The System Rig Design Engineer will be part of the Powertrain Test Operations team, responsible for designing, optimizing, and automating system rig designs, and integrating complex prototype systems into the physical test environment.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Deliver robust, first-time-right system rig designs including architecture, wiring, and cooling schematics aligned with project timelines and technical standards.

  • Ensure audit-ready documentation and drive continuous improvement by capturing lessons learned and implementing process enhancements.

  • Lead Agile delivery through effective sprint planning, risk mitigation, and KPI tracking to ensure on-time, in-budget execution.

  • Mentor team members, promote Scrum values, and support professional development through training and regular performance feedback.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally to align on requirements, maintain clear communication, and proactively manage JIRA workflows and stakeholder expectations.

  • Delivery: Timely release of rig designs aligned with project milestones.

  • Agility: Effective sprint execution and risk management.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience Required:

Essential​

Hard Skills:

  • Proven experience in integrating complex systems

  • Proven experience in system rig design, development, or integration

  • Strong technical understanding of automotive powertrain systems and associated interfaces

  • Experience with System Engineering tools and simulation software (e.g., MSOSA, SysML Tools)

  • Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience

  • Experience in Agile methodology, including Scrum and Kanban

  • Experience in automotive wiring harness design and high-voltage breakout box design

 

Soft Skills:

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

  • Ability to mentor and support team development

  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality

  • Agile mindset and adaptability to change

 

 

Desirable:

Hard Skills:

  • Experience with JIRA and Confluence

  • Familiarity with prototype system integration and testing

  • Knowledge of safety and compliance standards in automotive environments
