Position: Emissions Attribute – Lead Engineer (AES-BES Review & Support)

The Emissions Attribute – Lead Engineer plays an important role in ensuring emission compliance by reviewing AES-BES/AECD documentation by ensuring technical accuracy & consistency with calibration intent.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as a second pair of eyes for AES/BES/AECD documentation reviews to ensure regulatory compliance, technical accuracy, and consistency with calibration intent.

• Support the definition and refinement of AES, BES, AECD & Defeat device requirements in alignment with propulsion system changes and emissions regulations.

• Collaborate with calibration, regulatory, and software teams to assess the impact of post-certification changes on emissions strategies and AECD declarations.

• Develop and maintain tracker detailing AES/BES/AECD updates, rationale, and regulatory justifications.

• Review and validate AECD declarations to ensure they are not defeat devices and are compliant with applicable legislation (e.g., EU 2017/1151, EC 715/2007).

Skills, Knowledge and Experience Required:

​

Essential:

• Degree or equivalent education in Automotive/mechanical or relevant disciplines

• Experience interpreting regulatory texts and applying them to engineering scenarios, especially around AECD justification and defeat device assessment.

• Experience and familiarity with calibration workflows and software version control related to emissions strategies.

• Solid understanding of automotive engineering domains and systems & modern powertrain.

• Presentation and Communication skills.

• Experience working in Requirement management (TRM/Doors/RMDV)

Education:

• Degree or equivalent education in Automotive/mechanical or relevant disciplines.
