The Automation Development Engineer is responsible for developing, debugging and updating the tools used by the Propulsion Attributes Chapter in order to analyse data and produce metrics and reports. The Automation Development Engineer works alongside the Attribute Engineers and Lead Engineers, Test Engineers and the Technical Specialists, in a collaborative and diverse environment, to ensure the tools are kept up to date and meet the needs of Attribute products delivery for the entire OEM range, present and future. We are looking for an engineer to add to our dynamic and growing team, with specific focus on Automation Development for Data Analysis and Reporting. The successful candidate will work on existing and new tools, enabling the Chapter to deliver its products in the most efficient way. The successful candidate should be someone with excellent coding, data analysis and reporting skills, able to work remotely in an effective and productive way, with the ability to learn and adapt fast, operating under fluid and tight deadlines, to support the timely delivery of Propulsion Efficiency Performance Metrics across our range of products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Understanding and maintaining existing tools, engaging with the users to ensure they remain relevant and are continuously improved.

  • Drafting, developing and testing new tools as per Chapter roadmap.

  • Developing reports automation in line with the programme delivery needs.

  • Supporting urgent resolution of issues found with the tools.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience Required:

Essential:

 

  • Proven Experience in designing automation and coding, using Excel and VBA, Matlab, Python etc

  • Experience in test data analysis and reporting

 

Desirable:

 

  • Experience in the use of Etas MDA and/or AVL Concerto

  • Presentation and Communication skills

 

Education:

 

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical engineering, Computer Science, Data Analysis, Mechatronics, or a related field.

  • Additional certifications or training in Data Analysis are highly desirable.
